Milk is a complete food. Drinking milk has many benefits for kids. It not only gives strongmteeth and healthy bones but also aid in overall growth and development of a child. A workshop on importance of milk and milk products was conducted on 15th May 2019 and 16th May 2019 for classes Pre-Nursery to grade I . The students were told about the important nutrients present in milk and benefits of drinking milk everyday. They were shown different milk products and animals that give us milk. The tiny tots enjoyed the milk products and learned that milk is a wholesome food. The little Goenkans were encouraged to drink milk and include dairy products in their diet.
Outdoor play is a very essential part of the curriculum . splash pool is a great fun activity to indulge in, as it helps to strengthen the child’s body balance, muscle strength and coordination. To turn the heat off in the warm month of May a refreshing pool party was organised for the tiny tots of our School. All the kids enjoyed a lot in the splash pools and it gave them an exposure to one of an important physical activity i.e., swimming. It was a wonderful site to see our young students #dancing, and enjoying in the splash pools. The tiny tots also enjoyed the refreshing summer drinks and had great fun and frolic.
Story telling is a universal form that has featured strongly in school as an effective communication tool. It is often used as a medium to impart values, improving reading skills and opening the minds of children to the world beyond imagination. A story-telling session was conducted for classes Pre- Nursery to II on 5th of July 2019. The Children found the session really interesting and engrossed in the story which was told to them with creative gestures and facial expressions. The appropriate use of voice modulation enhanced imagination and introduced children to new outlook of storytelling. It helped the young minds think creatively.
Table etiquetttes are the rules used while eating, which may also include the use of utensils. Different cultures observe different rules for table manners. Activity bases on Table etiquettes was held to teach our little Goekans about how one should eat while dining with others.
Harela is a #monsoon festival which is celebrated in the kumaun region of Uttarakhand and some parts of Nepal .This festival is celebrated to welcome monsoon and lord Shiva. On the day of Harela the germinated shoots is harvested and is kept on head for prosperity. Goenkans planted trees on the Occasion of Harela and spread a message to plant more and more trees.
The Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated by the students to commemorate India’s victory in the Kargil conflict with Pakistan twenty years ago. The songs sung and the dances performed by the students filled us with patriotic fervor. Speeches given on this occasion brought tears to our eyes. Let us remember those selfless soldiers who without caring about themselves laid down their lives for the sake of our mother land and for us. Let us honour the supreme sacrifices made by our soldiers and the exemplary courage displayed by them. They crushed our enemies and our sorrow They gave up their today for our tomorrow They wore a smile and laid down their lives A salute to these gallant soldiers and their sacrifices They are fallen not forgotten. Trees represent life, growth, peace, nature… They give us hope, insight and courage to persevere… They teach us to nurture, stay rooted and soar to great heights… Goenkans were told about the importance of Panchtatv and plants one need to plant. Goenkans planted plants along with with the members of Diya foundation to give a message that how important plantation is in our life.
